AcuPT Clinic specializes in rehabilitating patients with injuries as well as in preventing future injuries.  We emphasize teaching patients how to achieve long-term health without the need for surgery and/or prescription medications.  We examine each individual and develop a plan to relieve pain, restore function, prevent recurrence of difficulties, and maintain healthy active lifestyles.

On your first visit, we will conduct a thorough evaluation of your situation, discuss the findings, and explain the options for treatments and/or classes that are suitable for you. Those forms of treatment and classes are listed below.

Physical Therapy

Our therapists can help patients reduce pain and improve or restore mobility - in many cases without expensive surgery and often reducing the need for long-term use of prescription medications and their side effects.

At AcuPT Clinic, we teach patients how to prevent or manage their condition so that they will achieve long-term health benefits. We examine each individual and develop a plan using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. In addition, we work with individuals to prevent the loss of mobility before it occurs by developing fitness- and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a practice used in Chinese medicine in which practitioners stimulate specific points on the body by inserting thin needles through the skin.   Acupuncture can treat a variety of health issues including, but not limited to: chronic and acute pain, upper respiratory disorders, fertility and digestive disorders. The main objectives in acupuncture are relieving pain, strengthening the immune system and balancing, harmonizing and integrating vital organs, allowing for a more unified, healthy individual.

At AcuPT Clinic, a licensed, well-trained acupuncturist will develop a personalized treatment strategy to address the patient's health issue as well as implement a preventative plan of care.

Tui Na Massage

Tui Na Massage is a form of Chinese manipulative therapy. The name comes from two of the actions: tui means "to push" and na means "to grasp." Archaeological studies have dated Tui Na back to around 2700 BC, making it the forefather of all forms of massage and body work that exist today. Tui Na is effective in treating pains of the muscles and joints resulting from sports injury, repetitive use and other orthopedic disorders.  It is also excellent for treating chronic stress.

Tai Ji Quan Classes

Tai Ji Quan is an ancient Chinese system of exercise, meditative movement, and self defense.  The movements of Tai Ji Quan promote the physical qualities of strength, balance, and flexibility.  The mental qualities of patience, calmness, concentration, and stability are cultivated by practicing Tai Ji Quan.  Medical research shows that the practice of Tai Ji Quan can lower stress, enhance physical and psychological functioning, improve balance, and promote a general sense of well-being.

Tai Ji Quan classes are taught  on Thursdays from 4:00 - 5:30 pm.
